Stoneman
You wouldn't say it, but Stoneman was born in 1974... in Namur, Belgium...
A lover of vibes and big bass, at the end of the 90s, with his friends Saïko (a well-known Brussels drum n' bass DJ) and M, he hosted a radio show whose name he found… ATOMIC SPLIFF! The process is underway, it will no longer stop...
He bought his first 45T vinyls in the many reggae festivals that he attended assiduously and refined his first selections which he was, quite logically, very quickly invited to play in various festivals, parties, etc. It was a revelation! The stage is his thing, contact with the public a drug to which he quickly becomes addicted. But Stoneman always wants more!
He picks up the microphone and begins a long journey of learning the vibe of singing, toasting with ever-increasing motivation. He accompanies himself during his soundsystem sets and joins his drum n' bass DJ colleagues Saïko and Mr Regulah as MC whenever he has the opportunity. He learns his skills, develops his style.
Under the name Atomic Spliff, collaborations followed with various singers, beatmakers, but also the organization of legendary evenings in Liège... Stoneman met and increased his audience.
In 2013, the meeting with Daddy Cookiz was decisive. The complicity and complementarity between the two singers are obvious, innate. They found themselves around a first project: “La Piratomixtape”, the first real release from Atomic Spliff which they sold like hotcakes.
Never satisfied, they decided to surround themselves with musicians and released two albums praised by critics and approved by the public: “Ras Attack” in 2015 and “Robomuffin” in 2017, both recorded at Studio Al' Môjone by the accomplice of always Mr Regulah. For more than 5 years, the Atomic Spliff shuttle will hit like a bomb.
They are constantly on tour, playing the biggest stages (Dour Festival, Rototom, Esperanzah, Les Ardentes, Francofolies, Reggae Geel, Les Solidarités, etc.) in Belgium and elsewhere (France, Germany, Holland, UK, Spain, Switzerland, Reunion Island, etc.). They perform with artists such as Joseph Cotton, P Nyne, LMK, Mardjenal and share the stage with such influential names as Solo Banton, Prince Fatty & Horseman, Damian Marley, DJ Vadim, Manu Digital, Bigga Ranks,… Stoneman , an artist within a group with an energy to thrill the masses!
2020, 45 years on the clock, Stoneman, founder of Atomic Spliff, essential character on the Belgian scene but also sculptor, comic book artist, street artist, is preparing to release his first solo 30cm recorded once again at the Al' Môjone studio always with the faithful Mr Regulah at the helm.
It will be something crazy, authentic and sincere in his image where we will find him posing on riddims of the rising French beatmaker, Ackboo, but also other Belgiumai ns.
